About

We hope that it helps you connect with our living, breathing, real-life community located on West Main Street in historic Sharpsburg, Maryland.

St. Paul’s has always been a small congregation. Our average Sunday attendance these days is around 55 people. Some folks have been here for over fifty years, and some are new to the community. Some people grew up in church, other people are new to Christianity. We are a diverse lot, coming from different backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences. We hold our differences as a source of strength.

We are united around our common journey. Simply put, each of us seeks God and we have chosen to do that together. We learn from each other, we love each other, and we help each other on the way. While we travel together as a fellowship, we are also respectful of each person’s individual path, and we do not expect them all to be the same.

At St. Paul’s we embrace being a small church in a small town. That means that Sunday morning worship is our primary time for gathering. Lots of folks come early and stay late. We work together with another church down the street for a collaborative Sunday School program for our children. Our coffee hours twice a month are big deals. We reach out to our community by helping with the local food banks, providing for children and families at holiday times, and making our space available to groups. We also reach out beyond our area to help folks around the world. Our vision of ministry begins in worship and moves out to embrace the larger world.

There is a place for you at St. Paul’s. We invite you to attend worship, every Sunday at 10:00 a.m. and stay for coffee, share your story, and listen to the many stories here. In listening to one another, we just might hear the voice of God speaking words of life and love.

Peace and joy,
